The Sisters of St. Casimir of Chicago was founded in 1907 by Venerable Servant of God Maria Kaupas in Scranton, PA.

Our Foundress

Venerable Mother Maria Kaupas, Foundress of the Sisters of St. Casimir, was born Casimira Kaupas in Ramygala, Lithuania, in 1880. At the request of her older brother, Rev. Anthony Kaupas, she came to the United States in 1897 to serve as his housekeeper…
