The Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Casimir was founded in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on August 29, 1907, when Mother Maria and her first two companions, Mother M. Immaculata (Judith Dvaranauskas) and Mother M. Concepta (Antanina Unguraitis) began their life together as a new community in the church. From its very beginning, the life and spirit of the congregation developed around Mother Maria.
